FOR A WORLD WITHOUT IMPERIALISM!

  The heads of the European governments are meeting in Gothenburg to decide the fate hundreds of millions of people in Europe and billions more around the entire world. Their vision of the future - the so-called European Union (EU) - is designed to serve the interests of a tiny minority of giant European capitalists. The future they want to shape is intended to preserve and strengthen their system of monopoly capitalism - imperialism. It is a system based upon relations of the oppression and exploitation that function not only in their respective countries, but more importantly throughout the entire world.
    It is an international system that places the profits of this tiny handful of people above the lives and interests of the vast majority of people on the planet. It is a system that can only function by forcing countless hundreds of millions of people to slave away on pennies a day to enrich this tiny minority. It is a system which is based upon the forcible subjugation of women into a position social inferiority; a system which breeds racist discrimination of against minorities; a system whose drive for profit is so rapid that it is destroying the natural environment that is the very basis for life on this planet. It is a system which has divided the world into a tiny handful of rich countries, whose wealth and power is based upon the super-exploitation of the vast majority of the world's countries and peoples. The relative "prosperity" in the centers of imperialism is purchased with the increasing poverty of oppressed nations and peoples around the world.
    This system of imperialism can only survive by enforcing it's domination over the world through political repression, prisons, torture and in the final analysis war. This is the essence and true meaning of the "freedom" and "community of values" that the European Imperialists talk about.
    Even while they continue to carry out ruthless competition among themselves, the European Imperialists are trying to band together to better compete against their counterparts in North America and Asia. This life-and-death global competition is the motivation and driving force behind their project "European Union". Their discussion of "EU expansion" is nothing more than a discussion of how to build an even bigger and more powerful imperialist block that can oppress and exploit even more millions around the world.
    That is the essence of imperialist globalization. The collapse of the revisionist false communist Soviet Union and its entire block has opened up even more areas of the world to domination by western capital. And it has created a political situation in which the Imperialists feel that they have more freedom to not only forcibly oppress and exploit the so-called 3rd World, but also to intensity the social polarization in their home countries.
    A very important feature of this particular "EU Summit" will be the presence of George W. Bush, President of the United States of Imperialism. Bush will be here to discuss with his European partners/competitors the terms under which they want to divide the world. They seek to reach some agreement about which portion of the world's flesh each imperialist beast will be allowed feast upon and how to carry out joint suppression of the struggles of the world's people: in Turkey, Palestine, Iran, India, Nepal, Indonesia, Korea, Peru, Columbia, etc., etc.
    For all these reasons the worldwide movements that have grown up to protest and combat "globalization" and the imperialists plans for "EU consolidation and expansion" are a very important development in the international struggle against imperialism. The "spirit of Seattle" is a spirit that has been welcomed and supported by the oppressed around the world and we are proud to be here in Sweden to take part together with all the other forces in these protests and actions.
    At the same time we Marxist-Leninist-Maoist forces call upon all those joining in this fight to take up the question of how to carry it through to final victory - to rid the world of imperialism once and for all. For our part we are convinced that this means a proletarian-led worldwide revolution from below. A revolution that is guided by the revolutionary science and ideology of Marxism-Leninism-Maoism (MLM). A revolution that seeks to do away with all forms of exploitation and oppression and all forms of class distinctions until a true classless stateless communist world has been achieved. Such a revolution must face the reality that the force of arms of the imperialists can in the final analysis only be defeated by the force of arms of oppressed: imperialism and imperialist war can only be defeated by People's War!
    Today most of the MLM parties and organizations in the world are united in the Revolutionary Internationalist Movement (RIM). All the parties and organizations of the RIM are working to build a new Communist International to organize and lead the world process of revolution and they are either carrying out People's War or preparing to carry it out depending on the particular situation of the countries where they are located.
    We call upon all those who share with us the desire to create this radically different world to contact the RIM, examine its analysis, line and program and join with us in serious discussion, debate and common struggle over the ways and means to achieve this great goal.
